I am such a fan of the selection of glasses from Just The Good Stuff! I love a pair of vintage eye glasses and how adorable are these two. They arrived in perfect condition and would be the perfect accessory to any outfit. I'm just lucky I actually need glasses.

I am a wife and mother who loves to go to estate sales. Estate sales for me are not just filled with wonderful vintage items, I go to experience the former owner's legacy and how they lived their wonderful life.
I feel I have a mission to 'rescue' some of the more interesting items and find new homes for them. For this reason I don't look at myself as a reseller but more as a curator.

Olympic Torch Cupcakes: Recipe
Olympic Torch Cake Pops
You will need:
1 packages (16oz) Vanilla CandiQuik Coating
1 box cake mix (your choice of flavor, plus ingredients for cake mix)
8 oz. cake frosting
Orange (oil or powder based) food coloring
Waffle ice cream cones
8 Fruit-flavored rolls (cherry or strawberry)
Directions:
1. Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on box; cool.
2. Crumble cooled cake into a large bowl. Mix thoroughly with frosting (it may be easier to use fingers to mix together).
3. Chill for approximately 2 hours in refrigerator (or place in the freezer to shorten time).
4. Chop the top of the waffle cones off, so the cones measure approximately 2 ½ inches tall.
5. Roll cake mixture into medium sized balls and chill briefly in refrigerator until somewhat firm (about 30 minutes).
6. Melt Vanilla CandiQuik according to package directions. Stir in orange food coloring until desired color is established.
7. Press a cake ball on top of the mini waffle cone. Dip the top of the cake ball into the CandiQuik by holding the end of the cone. Allow the excess coating to drip off.
8. Quickly apply the flame-shaped fruit pieces, beginning at the base and working towards the top of the cone. If the coating dries before all the flames are attached, use a toothpick to add more coating to the cone.
9. Stick cones into a Styrofoam block to set completely.

I am in love with this cape! Not only is the first cape I've ever owned but it is just so beautiful.
The material was amazing and so soft/satin on the inside. The design is my favorite. I love the patterns and it truly is a statement piece. I felt very elegant even pairing the cape with jeans. Ben Beautiful has so many wonderful vintage items that are truly one of a kind.

I love all things vintage! So for my 40th birthday, my husband (a really, great guy) threw me a 70's themed birthday party. Everything about it was a blast! I had so much fun shopping for my dress! I have not been able to stop shopping for great, vintage clothes since.
When it came time to open my Etsy shop, I asked our 4 kids, "What should I name the store? I want it to be unique to us." They said, "Ben Beautiful!" That is the nickname they gave their dad. (Told you he was a great guy!) And that is how Ben Beautiful Vintage came to be.

I had the pleasure of reviewing several products from Live Beautifully.
Blueberry Violets Lotion Bar: I have never used a lotion bar before but it seriously is now one of my favorite ways to use lotion. It was so easy to use and very easy to travel with. The smell of blueberry violet reminded me of summer. Combining wild fruit and floral is genius!
Blueberry Violets Perfume: I'm always on the look for the perfect perfume. I'm the person who spends an hour at the mall trying to find the perfect scent. Well I've found it! Blueberry violet is fresh, fruity, and has the smell of a summer day. Just what I've always wanted in a perfume!
Peach Bellini Lip Balm; Lip Butter Primer: Both lip products were amazing. I found myself reapplying each of them all throughout the day. With Pittsburgh being so cold lately, you defiantly need a great lip balm/butter to help you get through it!

I've always liked vintage clothing since a young age. I like how each piece has traveled many places and has a story to tell. I feel when I wear the clothes, I have traveled back in time whether it be a century or more. Though the surroundings change as the years go by to me clothing stays the same. They are pieces once worn by fashion forward fashionistas now years later they are re-used and worn my today's modern one of a kind individuals, they are timeless. Fashions come and go but it is the one who wears it that makes it stand out. I have been an avid thrift store, estate sale, and flea market shopper for many years. At all the places I have shopped at, I always gravitate towards pieces with color or unique designs. When I was in college I realized I needed to start selling some of my finds and I sold for 2 years at an antique mall. I started my Etsy shop on August 2nd, 2013. It is called Kites Fly Yellow, I named it after a poem I had written years ago. I want it to be a place I can share my finds with others so they could enjoy them. I strive to have affordable clothes that will become staple pieces in anyone's closet. I also enjoy watching movies and baking cookies, my favorite recipe so far is persimmon cookies :)
