What I Wore - Introducing: Ben Beautiful

    Pants: Old Navy
    Shoes: Charlotte Russe
    Clutch: Target

Featuring Item: Vintage Cape

I am in love with this cape! Not only is the first cape I've ever owned but it is just so beautiful.
The material was amazing and so soft/satin on the inside. The design is my favorite. I love the patterns and it truly is a statement piece. I felt very elegant even pairing the cape with jeans. Ben Beautiful has so many wonderful vintage items that are truly one of a kind.

Meet Veronica owner of Ben Beautiful

About:
I love all things vintage! So for my 40th birthday, my husband (a really, great guy) threw me a 70's themed birthday party. Everything about it was a blast! I had so much fun shopping for my dress! I have not been able to stop shopping for great, vintage clothes since.

When it came time to open my Etsy shop, I asked our 4 kids, "What should I name the store? I want it to be unique to us." They said, "Ben Beautiful!" That is the nickname they gave their dad. (Told you he was a great guy!) And that is how Ben Beautiful Vintage came to be.

In my shopping, I find vintage clothes and decor. I hope you love my finds as much as I do.

Here are a few of my favorites from the Ben Beautiful collection

Valentine DIY Project; Lipstick Art

Valentine Lipstick Art

Materials:
a variety of pink and red lipsticks (dollar store)
drawing paper
8×10 frame
pencil
heart template (optional)

Instructions:
First take your drawing paper and your heart template and and lightly draw a heart in the middle.

Then start at the left side of the heart and begin to “color” your heart by using bold strokes. Keep doing that with different shades of lipstick until you’re done.

The key to this technique is going outside of the pencil lines. Have fun!

Allow the print to dry for about 24 hours and then frame it.

Retro Swimsuits; ModCloth

I was shopping the other day and some of the department stores already had swimsuits out! For me this is a wonderful motivator and reminder. That although there is snow on the ground here in Pittsburgh, swimsuit season will be here quicker than I thought! When it comes to picking a swimsuit I am in love with the style retro. I also love the clothing store ModCloth! Check out my top picks for retro swimsuits this season!

It's ModCloth's ultimate swimsuit - now in a youthful yellow gingham print! The holy grail of swimwear, and flattering on every body type, this retro swimsuit by Esther Williams features low-cut legs, a halter neck, and flirty ruching across the front. Famed film star and swimmer of the 1940s and 1950s, Esther Williams makes retro, flattering swimsuits. Show off your own signature flair for vintage style - even at the beach!

Some things never go out of style - a boardwalk stroll, a classic car, or a flawless tank swimsuit! Printed with iconic waterfront images, this is the must-have suit for a summer road trip or active vacation. Photo-printed in sunset hues of violet, petal, and sky, then lined in tangerine, this lightly-padded one piece helps you complete the perfect beach day. Pair under a chambray cover up and wedge espadrilles for your journey to the sea.

Timeless as Tides One Piece

Sun and sand signal bright days and warm nights, and this retro swimsuit by Wet Swimwear is ideal for your beautiful beach getaway. Delicate ruffles atop the structured bodice and hipster-cut bottom add flirty fun to this belted, electric-pink one piece. Shirred side panels, an underwire bust, and adjustable straps ensure comfort and flexibility. Whether your Florida days are spent sunning, surfing, or strolling the beach, a dotted sunhat, wedge sandals, and this suit make your vacay vibrant!

Coral Gables Days One Piece

What’s a worldly girl like you need to make the most of sun and sand? This tile-inspired, blue rash guard from Nanette Lapore! Sizzling with a play of patterns, this zip-up swim top ensures hours of beach fun and cool sunset cocktails are all within reach. Simply ride those waves to your heart’s content, then add a long white maxi skirt and large, dark sunnies for late-afternoon tapas by the beach!

It's ModCloth's ultimate swimsuit - now in a winsome white chevron print! The holy grail of swimwear, and flattering on every body type, this retro swimsuit by Esther Williams features low-cut legs, a halter neck, and flirty ruching across the front. Created by the famed Olympic swimmer, actress, and businesswoman, Esther Williams' namesake line features flattering, retro silhouettes and beautifully bold designs. Turn the boardwalk into your own personal catwalk by strolling along the shore in this seersucker one piece! A ruffled hem adds flirty fun to the padded bust cups, ruched sides, and removable halter tie of this underwire-supported, turquoise and white swimsuit. Welcome the sun’s warmth on your shoulders as you strut, swim, and sail in beaded sandals, neon-rimmed sunnies, and this retro suit - what a vibrant start to your vacay!

Boardwalk the Runway One Piece

You’re a hopeless romantic for round-the-world expeditions on a big old schooner, but until you find a seaworthy crew, you’ll merely have to fantasize from the beach towel on which you and your Fables by Barrie bathing suit are settled! Since 2007, Fables by Barrie has been creating fashion fusion by adding vintage flavor to modern styles. A tied halter above a padded and boned bust, touches of bows and striped trim, and decorative buttons boasting adorable anchors make this retro swimwear easy to dream in, and as you lounge with your painted toes in the sand, you’re sure you’ll achieve your wish one day!
